Museum Volunteers still in shock

Volunteers from the Cobdogla Steam Friends society are still hopeful they’ll be allowed back at the now closed Cobby steam museum one day.

After over 30 years looking after the site, SA Water who are the crown land custodians locked the gate as amid flood concerns.

Since the flood the group haven’t been able to return, with SA water now wanting close the site completely – citing safety and financial reasons.

They say they’ll work with the steam friends group to relocate, however it’s not known who’ll pick up the cost.
