Riverland wine industry figures will be in attendance today at a workshop, as moves are made to prepare to possibly recommence exports to China.
Workshops have been held in many major wine regions this week, which aim to provide updates on wine market conditions, market access and entry, legal considerations and cultural awareness.
In 2020 prior to tariffs being imposed, wine exports to china from SA were worth over $940M, now valued under $3M.
Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development, Nick Champion says “The South Australian Government will continue to collaborate with its industry partners to deliver initiatives that support re-engagement, build capability and re-position our wine state as a market leader in China”
