High speed, big fines

A speeding driver from the Riverland has been issued fines of over $2000, on top of now being without a license for some time.

Around 8.40am Sunday, Riverland Police were conducting speed detection duties on Sturt Highway at Blanchetown when they detected the car travelling at an alleged speed of 125kp/h in an 80kp/h zone.

The driver was issued with an expiation notice for excessive speed totalling $2,059 and given a six-month instant loss of licence notice.
