Loxton Rower Alex Hill’s attempt to go back-to-back gold has sadly seen his crew miss the podium.
In the men’s 4 final last night in Paris, several other crews set a blistering pace early, including eventual winners the United States.
Their win was the first in the event since 1960, with the event won by Australia or Great Britain since 1992.
The recent campaign was the 3rd games for the local rower, seeing him in a very small group of locals who have competed that many times at the highest level.
Many locals packed into venues to watch the final, with local viewers now following the fortunes of Loxton’s Zach Schubert in Beach Volleyball & Morgan’s Tom Wickham in the Hockey.
