Mid Murray Councils flood costing shortfalls have been further revealed, as council continues to look for savings.
At Council last week, a question on notice outlined $13.7million had so far been spent by Council for flood preparation and recovery attributed to the 2022/23 River Murray flood event.
Further to that, council revealed State Government grants, together with insurance payments had only reached $7.3M, thus leaving Council with an over $6M deficit.
Just recently Council’s application for Federal funding through the Growing Regions Fund was unsuccessful, coming at a time when council services are further under the microscope.
