There’s more calls from the Wine industry to fight moves by the European Union to claim ownership of the word ‘Prosecco’.
Australian Grape and Wine (AG&W) says it’s the second time the E-U’s tried to stop Australian companies from using the name on of sparkling wines.
Lee Mclean of AG&W said “Prosecco is a grape variety, just like Shiraz is, just like chardonnay is. We need to make sure that Australian producers maintain that right to use the grape variety name on their labels.”
