A number of drivers have been caught drink or drug driving by Riverland Police.
On Saturday a 35-year-old Waikerie man produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.147 after he was stopped on Waikerie’s Civic Avenue. He was issued with a 6-month instant loss of licence, as well as being reported for drink driving.
Also on Saturday, highway patrols stopped a Toyota sedan on Murtho Road at Paringa, with the driver then roadside drug tested. The man from Berri then returned an alleged positive result for methamphetamine and cannabis.
He received a 3-month instant loss of licence and may be summoned to appear in court at a later date pending the results of a forensic analysis.
