A number of access controls will need to be implemented, prior to Renmark’s currently closed 21st bridge re-opens for pedestrians.
With a permanent fix said to be some time away, council will engage contractors to re-open the flood damaged structure soon, however no vehicles will be permitted.
Speaking this week, Renmark-Paringa Mayor Peter Hunter said “Whilst we continue planning for the permanent option, we are hopeful the temporary reopening of the Twentyfirst Street Bridge to pedestrians and cyclists will provide some much needed relief to the surrounding residents, schools and businesses.”
