Council commitment for Cobby steam

The Berri Barmera Council has confirmed their commitment in trying to save the Cobdogla Steam Museum.

Last week the Cobdogla steam friend’s volunteer group were told they wouldn’t be allowed back at the SA Water controlled site, with SA water citing safety and cost factors.

Via a statement Berri Barmera CEO Dylan Strong said “Council was determined to do whatever it could, within its means, to support the group”

This comment follows last week’s meeting of elected members in which Councillors unanimously moved a motion to “Lobby the State Government for investigation of different options to transfer the Cobdogla SA Water site to the Cobdogla Steam Friends Society Inc.”
