Riverland Wine’s independent chair has called time on his tenure, following a stint that commenced in 2021.
Via a statement yesterday, Riverland Wine announced Dr. Darren Oemcke had resigned from his position as Independent Chair, while the industry body continues to review their organisation’s objectives and capabilities.
Riverland Wine thanked Dr Oemcke for his leadership and commitment during his tenure, adding further his passion for the region since taking on the role.

For now the Committee that oversees the Industry body has decided not to seek a replacement for the Independent Chair position, with local wine industry figure, Jim Markeas taking on the role of acting chair.
