A new Deputy Mayor has been appointed for the Berri Barmera Council.
At last week’s meeting of Elected Members, the now former Deputy Mayor Andrew Kassebaum announced he would need to step down from the role.
Cr Kassebaum, who will stay on as an elected member outlined it was a hard decision, however said he could no longer commit sufficient time to the role of deputy mayor at present.
It was then formally announced that Cr Trevor Scott would take the deputy role, who was previously Deputy Mayor in 2022.
Berri Barmera Mayor Ella Winnall thanked Cr Kassebaum for his service and recognised Cr Scott in taking on the role.
“We have a wealth of experience across the chamber and I appreciate Cr Kassebaum stepping up late last year, and recognise Cr Scott returning to the role in 2025,” Mayor Winnall said.
