Independent member of the Legislative Council, Frank Pangallo is calling for Riverland wine grape growers to stand together, amid concerns they need more representation within wine groups.

He was in the Riverland last week and spoke at a meeting of growers to discuss the state of the industry as many growers facing tough decisions this harvest.

Some prices offered by wineries are said to be well under production cost, with Mr Pangallo calling for growers to not supply grape buyers at prices being offered.

Mr Pangallo is also calling for a review of wine industry representation, outlining that growers were grossly unrepresented in some groups.

Concern remains a significant amount of Riverland wine grapes will be left unharvested this vintage.
