Busy weekend for Riverland Police

Drugs along with a knife were seized by Police, following a traffic stop in Renmark.

Around 1.40am Sunday, Renmark Police stopped the car on New Landing Way, were checks revealed the driver currently had a suspended licence.

A further Police search then uncovered an amount of cannabis, methamphetamine and a folding knife.

The 22-year-old male driver from Renmark was reported for a number of offences, including the offence of carrying an offensive weapon.

He’ll now face court at a later date.

Meanwhile Sunday Afternoon Police stopped an Audi sedan on Gordon Road at Bookpurnong after reports of hoon driving.

Police then drug tested the 31-year-old male driver from Loxton, who allegedly returned a positive result to methamphetamine.

He was issued a three-month instant loss of licence and his sample will be sent to Forensic Science SA for further analysis.
