More dedicated palliative care nurses are now working through the local health network.
10 new positions have been backed statewide by the state government, with two of the new positions based at Barmera.
The additional two positions almost doubles the previous workforce, with Health Minister Chris Picton saying “The increase in specialist palliative care nurses will allow patients to be treated closer to home while reducing pressure on both metropolitan and country hospitals”
