More Riverland & Mallee locals will soon have greater access to faster internet following upgrades to the NBN.
The $750 Million dollar upgrade will see upgrades to the Fixed Wireless and Satellite services, with work to be carried out at 2300 towers.
For the Riverland & Mallee Fixed Wireless is used widely, being the only option for many out of major townships.
Fixed wireless is also the sole option for towns such as Glossop, Cobdogla, Moorook & Kingston on Murray.
Chief Development Officer for Regional and Remote at NBN, Gavin Williams, says the upgrades will help meet the growing needs of Regional homes and businesses.
Mr Williams added further “The completion of these upgrades is a culmination of more than two years’ work, and has overcome challenges including remote access, weather – including floods, fires and cyclones, and native birds using our towers to nest.
