Basin plan review calls for accountability

A report from the Productivity Commission’s found proposed legislation to extend the timeframe of the Murray Darling Basin Plan doesn’t go far enough.

It says the plan hasn’t made enough progress on water recovery, and is calling for more state and federal accountability.

The commission says basin governments need to be more transparent and accountable in delivering the plan.
