Positive signs for fruit fly program

Sterile fruit fly releases are set to ramp up in the Riverland as officials continue the eradication program.

Pleasingly, over winter 35 of the 58 Riverland outbreak areas did not see a detection, which officials say is the result of ongoing monitoring and a combination of targeted controls.

Locals who see an increase of aircraft or PIRSA vehicle movements in coming months are being reassured this does not indicate a new outbreak.
