Locals are being warned of so called ‘bitumen bandit’ activity in Renmark.
The activity sees offers of cheap bitumen work from unlicensed contractors, however customers are often left with a substandard product with payment terms often asking for cash or upfront payments.
One Renmark business reportedly handed over $10,000 after being approached by tradies claiming to have left over material from a nearby project. The end result is described as well below standard and incomplete.
