A prescribed burn in Renmark is scheduled for today between Renmark and Paringa.
From 2pm Thursday October 30 the burn is hoping to reduce fuel in a section of the Murray River National Park known as the Paringa Paddock.
Motorists are advised that speed and lane restrictions are planned along the Sturt Highway in the area, with Renmark and Patey drive set to close while the burn is taking place.
National Parks and Wildlife SA staff will remain on site while the burn is taking place and is part of a statewide program aimed to to reduce the spread and intensity of bushfires, protect communities and enhance biodiversity..
Those impacted by smoke are advised to take precautions, with the burn expected to be completed by 8pm.
