As Riverland residents continue to shiver through cold overnight temperatures, the SA Government has extended their Code Blue declaration for the region.
A Code Blue had been in place since last Tuesday, however predicted overnight temps of two to three degrees for most of the upcoming week
prompted the extension.

Human Services Minister Nat Cook said the decision was simple to make, stating the importance of protecting those sleeping rough.
“The biggest risk in extremely cold conditions such as those predicted in coming days, is that people can quickly become unwell or even hypothermic. This can pose a serious risk to health,” Ms Cook said.
“These Code Blue responses help people experiencing homelessness who are most affected by extreme winter weather to remain warm and safe.”
